How Many 4 x 8 Sheets Do I Need?
Here’s how to easily measure any space.
Step 1: Measure the length of each wall. Let’s say Wall #1 is 32 feet long and Wall #2 is 24 feet long.
Step 2: Decide how many panels high you want to cover the wall. The most common is 4 feet, 8 feet or 12 feet high since slatwall panels are stackable. Example – let’s say 8 feet high. Each panel is 4′ tall, so I am stacking 2 panels high.
Step 3: Add the total lengths of each wall together. Example – 32 + 24 = 56.
Step 4: Divide this number by the length of each panel. Each panel is 8 feet long. Example – 56 / 8 = 7.
Step 5: In step 2, I decided I want to stack the panels 2 high. So, I will multiple the total number of panels I need for the length (7) by the number of panels high I want to go (2). Example – 7 x 2 = 14.
Step 6: If I am not cutting any of the slatwall panels, then 14 sheets of slatwall is all I would need. In the event you are cutting slatwall panels, we recommend buying 10% in extra material. Example – 14 x 1.10 = 15.4 or you can round up to 16 sheets total.
Step 7: Multiple this number by 2 if you want the 4′ x 4′ slatwall panels.

What to Expect on Delivery Day
When you order slatwall panels, we will build a crate around them. We guarantee our slatwall panels will show up in perfect condition, otherwise we will replace it for free.
Step 1: Slatwall panels are generally protected inside a crate and picked up by the freight company 1-2 days after your order is placed.
Step 2: Once the pallet is picked up from our warehouse, the tracking number will be emailed to you. From here, you can track it the same way you would buying a T-Shirt online.
Step 3: The day before slatwall gets delivered, you will receive a call from the freight company so they can ensure you will be on site.
Step 4: Slatwall panels are shipped on a pallet larger than 4′ x 8′, which means it is an oversized pallet that cannot fit on a liftgate. 2 or more people will be required to unload the slatwall panels by hand, or a forklift with 6′ long extensions needs to be on site. Over 90% of our clients unload the truck by hand with 2 or more people!
Step 5: If you would like slatwall panels to be removed from the truck with a lift gate, please order them in the 4′ x 4′ size!

Stories Behind the Spaces
Read what people have said about working with us! (HINT: you can Google “Displayarama Hollywood, Florida” and read all of our Google Reviews too! We have over 100 reviews and 4.9 stars that make us proud.)

“I was told the panels could safely hold 90 lbs per groove with the aluminum inserts, and I have even more than that on the walls. They’re holding up great!! The delivery was also super easy since I was notified what day the truck was going to arrive so could plan for helpers.”
– Jane D., Boutique Owner
“The crating for shipping was nice. Most other vendors just ship it on a pallet and it gets beat up pretty bad. Then, when you want a replacement the vendor gives you a hard time. Displayarama made getting slatwall pretty dang easy since they do the basics well.
– Mark T., Auto Parts Retailer

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is “Slat Spacing?”
When you look at a slatwall panel, you will notice there are horizontal lines going across it. If you measured from the center of one horizontal line to the center of the next horizontal line, then you will know the slat spacing. Standard slat spacing is 3” and give the most flexibility when merchandising. 6” slat spacing is becoming more popular since it is a more simplistic look similar to shiplap while also being functional!
Is It Easier to Install 4’ x 8’ Panels or 4’ x 4’ Panels?
The ease of installation depends on how many panels you are installing and how many people you plan on having help. Each 4’ x 8’ panel is roughly 90 lbs, while the 4’ x 4’ panels are roughly 45 lbs. If one person is doing the install, the 4’ x 4’ panel will be easier since they can likely hold the panel and screw it at the same time. If you have 2 or 3 people that will be doing the install, the 4’ x 8’ panels will have less seams between sheets however the install may require more work.
How Much Weight Can I Really Hold on Each Slatwall Panel?
As a general rule of thumb, you can hold up to 30 lbs per horizontal line across the slatwall without the aluminum inserts. You can hold up to 100 lbs per horizontal line across the slatwall with the aluminum inserts included. These are general guidelines – we have seen people hold more weight on both, but it will vary depending on which accessories you are using.
How Does Slatwall Get Delivered?
Slatwall panels are delivered via freight, meaning they arrive on a truck. A semi truck, box truck, or sprinter van will arrive at your business or residence after they call you the schedule a delivery day. The day of delivery, you will either have a lift gate lower the slatwall to the ground then the driver will bring it to the front door…or it will need to be unloaded one sheet at a time. If you have a forklift, you can also use this to unload.
What Happens If Slatwall Is Delivered and Is Damaged?
Let’s say a slatwall shipment arrives and is visibly damaged on the outside of the crate. You should tell the driver you want an Exception Number, take photos of the damaged shipment, refuse it, and sign the delivery receipt as “damaged”, then take a photo of it. Let’s say the slatwall is not visibly damaged, but you open the protective crate and find there is damaged. At this point, you should call us immediately so we can strategize on a solution together. We will never leave a client in a position where you are unhappy, so if this means we have to replace the slatwall then we will do it.
How Long Does It Take to Install Each Sheet of Slatwall?
20 minutes to 60 minutes is an acceptable amount of time to install each sheet of slatwall depending on if the slatwall needs to be cut, what material the wall is made from (concrete or wood/metal studs), and how perfectly level you’d like it.
How Do I Install Slatwall?

What Screws Should I Use for Slatwall Panels?
2” self tapping screws are recommending for metal or wood studs. If installing on concrete, you should use tapcons that are 3” long.
How Many Screws Should I Use For Each Sheet When It’s Installed?
For the most support, we recommend using 28 screws per slatwall panel or more if you are planning on hanging a substantial amount of weight.
Do the Aluminum Inserts Come Already Inside the Groove or Separate?
Yes – aluminum or metal inserts will already be inserted in the slatwall groove. We also include an additional aluminum insert if you are stacking them more than 4’ tall on a wall.
Do I Remove the Aluminum Inserts Before Installing It?
Nope – you will drill directly thru the aluminum insert when installing slatwall which will save time and increase the weight capacity.
Which Color Screws Should I Use for Installation?
Use silver or chrome screws when installing slatwall with aluminum inserts so the screw head blends in. If the slatwall panels do not have aluminum inserts, the choice is yours!

I’m Considering Buying Used Slatwall Panels – What Should I Look Out For?
Look out for slatwall that has screw holes in it, cracks, broken edges, discoloration, swelling, spots where color has started chipping, and for scammers.
