Black Woodgrain Slatwall Panel 4x8 3" Groove Spacing with Metal Inserts

Horizontal

Horizontal slatwall panels are the 4' tall by 8' long slatwall panels. These are mounted side by side and can also be stacked.

Vertical

If you'd like vertical slatwall panels, we use 2 pieces of 4' x 4' panels that stack on top of one another seamlessly.

How Do I Trim Off the Slatwall Panels?

Aluminum Trim

Our aluminum trim comes in 48" or 96" lengths and matches the aluminum inserts in our slatwall. You can use liquid nail to adhere this to the wall.

Wood Trim & Paint

If you are a DIYer, you can purchase wood trim at a local hardware store and paint it yourself. We recommend a 0.75" x 0.75" x 96" angle trim made of wood. This can be applied using a nail gun or liquid nail.

How Do I Stack Slatwall Panels to Go 8 Feet or Higher Up the Wall?

Add An Aluminum Insert

We include extra aluminum inserts for free so you can seamlessly stack them. You will notice there is a half groove on top and bottom of each panel, which is where this will fit in between.

If No Aluminum Inserts, Simply Stack

The top and bottom of each slatwall panel has a half groove. These are meant to bump up to each other and look seamless on the wall. Line them up, then you're good to go!

Calculate How Many Sheets You'll Need

Here’s how to easily measure any space.

Step 1: Measure the length of each wall. Let’s say Wall #1 is 32 feet long and Wall #2 is 24 feet long.

Step 2: Decide how many panels high you want to cover the wall. The most common is 4 feet, 8 feet or 12 feet high since slatwall panels are stackable. Example – let’s say 8 feet high. Each panel is 4′ tall, so I am stacking 2 panels high.

Step 3: Add the total lengths of each wall together. Example – 32 + 24 = 56.

Step 4: Divide this number by the length of each panel. Each panel is 8 feet long. Example – 56 / 8 = 7.

Step 5: In step 2, I decided I want to stack the panels 2 high. So, I will multiple the total number of panels I need for the length (7) by the number of panels high I want to go (2). Example – 7 x 2 = 14.

Step 6: If I am not cutting any of the slatwall panels, then 14 sheets of slatwall is all I would need. In the event you are cutting slatwall panels, we recommend buying 10% in extra material. Example – 14 x 1.10 = 15.4 or you can round up to 16 sheets total.

Step 7: Multiple this number by 2 if you want the 4′ x 4′ slatwall panels.

What to Expect When Slatwall Panels Are Delivered

When you order slatwall panels, we will build a crate around them. We guarantee our slatwall panels will show up in perfect condition, otherwise we will replace it for free.

Step 1: Slatwall panels are generally protected inside a crate and picked up by the freight company 1-2 days after your order is placed.

Step 2: Once the pallet is picked up from our warehouse, the tracking number will be emailed to you. From here, you can track it the same way you would buying a T-Shirt online.

Step 3: The day before slatwall gets delivered, you will receive a call from the freight company so they can ensure you will be on site.

Step 4: Slatwall panels are shipped on a pallet larger than 4′ x 8′, which means it is an oversized pallet that cannot fit on a liftgate. 2 or more people will be required to unload the slatwall panels by hand, or a forklift with 6′ long extensions needs to be on site. Over 90% of our clients unload the truck by hand with 2 or more people!

Step 5: If you would like slatwall panels to be removed from the truck with a lift gate, please order them in the 4′ x 4′ size!

People Say Nice Things About How We Do Business!

Read what people have said about working with us! (HINT: you can Google “Displayarama Hollywood, Florida” and read all of our Google Reviews too! We have over 100 reviews and 4.9 stars that make us proud.)

“I was told the panels could safely hold 90 lbs per groove with the aluminum inserts, and I have even more than that on the walls. They’re holding up great!! The delivery was also super easy since I was notified what day the truck was going to arrive so could plan for helpers.”

– Jane D., Boutique Owner

“The crating for shipping was nice. Most other vendors just ship it on a pallet and it gets beat up pretty bad. Then, when you want a replacement the vendor gives you a hard time. Displayarama made getting slatwall pretty dang easy since they do the basics well.

Slatwall Panels with Aluminum Inserts FAQs

What’s the difference between slatwall panels with aluminum inserts and without?

The primary difference between slatwall panels with and without aluminum inserts is their weight-bearing capacity and durability.

Slatwall Panels without Aluminum Inserts: These panels are made from Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF) and are suitable for displaying lightweight merchandise. They can typically support up to 30 lbs per horizontal groove.

Slatwall Panels with Aluminum Inserts: These panels also have an MDF core but feature high-strength aluminum inserts pre-installed within each groove. The inserts dramatically increase the panel’s strength, allowing them to hold up to 100 lbs per horizontal groove. This makes them ideal for displaying heavier items, providing enhanced durability and preventing the grooves from sagging or breaking over time.

How much weight can slatwall panels with aluminum inserts hold?

DISPLAYARAMA’s slatwall panels with aluminum inserts are engineered to support a significant amount of weight, making them a robust solution for various display requirements. Each horizontal groove can hold up to 100 pounds.

It is important to note that this capacity is based on proper installation, which includes securing the panels directly into wall studs. The type of slatwall accessories used (e.g., hooks, shelves, brackets) can also influence the overall weight distribution and capacity.

Should I add aluminum inserts to my slatwall panels?

Deciding whether to add aluminum inserts depends on the intended use of your slatwall panels. Here are some key considerations:

For Heavy Merchandise: If you plan to display heavy items such as tools, hardware, or large products, using aluminum inserts is highly recommended. The inserts provide the necessary reinforcement to ensure the safety and longevity of your display.

For Long-Term Durability: Even for moderately heavy items, aluminum inserts enhance the durability of the slatwall panels, preventing wear and tear over time and ensuring a professional appearance in your retail space.

For Lighter Items: If you are confident that you will only be displaying lightweight items like clothing or small accessories, you may not require the additional strength of aluminum inserts. However, opting for inserts provides greater flexibility for future display needs.

In summary, if there is any uncertainty about the weight of the products you will display, it is a wise investment to choose slatwall panels with aluminum inserts for added security and peace of mind.

Are slatwall panel aluminum inserts universal to all slatwall?

No, slatwall panel aluminum inserts are not universal. The compatibility of inserts is dependent on the specific design and manufacturing of the slatwall panels.

It is highly recommended to purchase slatwall panels with the aluminum inserts already installed. This is because the grooves of these panels are cut slightly deeper during the manufacturing process to accommodate the precise dimensions of the inserts. Attempting to add inserts to standard slatwall panels that were not designed for them may result in an improper fit and compromised weight capacity.

At DISPLAYARAMA, our slatwall panels with aluminum inserts are sold as a complete, integrated system to ensure optimal performance and strength. The inserts are pre-installed, saving you time and effort during installation.
