Got Questions?
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know about outfitting a video game store with DISPLAYARAMA fixtures.
What fixtures do I need to open a video game store?
Most video game stores use four main fixtures: locked glass display cases for consoles, handhelds and collectible games; slatwall panels with hooks and shelves for controllers, headsets and accessories; gondola shelving for new and pre-owned game aisles; and a checkout counter. Call 1-800-292-5227 and we can help you plan the right mix for your floor space.
Do you offer free store layouts for video game stores?
Yes. DISPLAYARAMA offers free 2D and 3D store layouts. Send us your floor dimensions and we will map out where your display cases, slatwall, gondola runs and checkout counter should go so you can see the store before you order.
How should I display pre-owned and retro games?
Keep high-value retro cartridges, boxed collector's editions and limited consoles in locked Extra Vision display cases where customers can see them from every angle. Common pre-owned games work well on gondola shelving or slatwall shelves organized by console, so customers can browse on their own.
Are your display cases secure enough for consoles and collectible games?
Yes. Every Full Vision and Extra Vision display case ships with a plunger or ratchet lock and two keys as standard, and our wall display cases have built-in locks. Your consoles, handhelds and rare games stay fully visible while staying protected from theft.
What is the difference between Full Vision and Extra Vision display cases?
Full Vision display cases have a glass front and top with solid sides. Extra Vision display cases have glass on the front, top and sides for maximum visibility from every angle, which makes them a popular choice for featured consoles and collectible games.
Do your display cases come with lighting?
Extra Vision display cases come standard with LED lights across the top and mirrored doors. We also offer custom 6,000K white LED lighting and RGB color-changing lights, which are a great fit for the look of a video game store.
What slatwall accessories work best for a video game store?
Hooks are ideal for controllers, cables, headsets and other blister-packed accessories. Faceouts work for gift cards and hanging packaged items, glass and acrylic shelves hold game cases and boxed products, and baskets keep small accessories organized. All of our slatwall accessories fit any standard MDF slatwall panel.
How much weight can slatwall panels hold?
Slatwall panels hold about 30 lbs per groove without aluminum inserts and up to 100 lbs per groove with aluminum inserts. If you plan to hang heavier items like boxed consoles or bundles, we recommend panels with aluminum inserts.
Is gondola shelving a good fit for a video game store?
Yes. Double sided gondola shelving creates center aisles for new and pre-owned games, while gondola wall shelving lines the perimeter. The shelves are adjustable, and slatwall backed gondola shelving lets you hang accessories on the same unit.
Do you offer bulk discounts for video game stores?
Yes. Bulk pricing starts at 4 or more display cases, 10 or more slatwall panels, or 4 or more gondola sections. Call 1-800-292-5227 or fill out our bulk pricing form to get a quote.
Can display cases be delivered pre-assembled?
Yes. For an additional fee we assemble every unit, palletize and crate it, and ship it ready to use. Shipping costs more, but it saves significant setup time before your store opens.
Where do you ship, and what if something arrives damaged?
We ship anywhere in the US and the Caribbean Islands, with free scheduled delivery appointments and a free protective crate on every order. If anything arrives damaged, photograph it, note it on the delivery receipt and send us the photos. We file the freight claim and replace it at no cost to you.
